EFF14: Preparing a Better World

EFF14
From the 25th to 27th September 2015 the United Nations held a summit to adopt the Sustainable Development Goals.

Education is ideally placed to provide the kind of critical awakening necessary to support the delivery of the goals.  The aim of EFF14 was to help the drive towards helping the SDGs get into everybody’s mind by raising awareness of the goals though an on-line,  live global debate.  EFF14 explored how we must develop behaviours that will bring the goals to life and further help unlock the aspirations that the goals have been designed to achieve.

The debate was chaired by Gavin Dykes with specially invited guests from 11 countries and a global audience  including  policy makers, advisors, teachers and students. Opening EFF14 was Carolina Belalcázar from UNESCO’s offices in Paris. Our first speaker was Karen Cator who is the President and CEO of Digital Promise. Dominic Regester, Senior Schools Adviser for the British Council, closed the debate and we had John Connell monitoring the Twitter stream.
