Vera Lucia Cabral Costa
Vera Lucia Cabral Costa is an Independent Education Consultant in the field of Public Policy and ICT & Education.
From 2011 to 2013 Vera was the leader of the Public Private Partnership Project on Education & Technology for the State of São Paulo which involved 3.5 million students, 4.300 schools, 48.000 classrooms and 163.000 teachers. Prior to this Vera was responsible for the creation and implementation of the Teachers´ Development School at the São Paulo State Education Department. This involved the formulation and implementation of a permanent, large scale training program for professional development using ICT and distance learning tools which involved 230,000 teachers and other 40,000 employees of the education department. Vera has also been responsible for institutional reform projects at the Education and Health Departments of São Paulo State, the implementation of ICT programs for professional development both for education and health sector public servants and the design and implementation of the Internship Program of the Public Administration of the State of São Paulo, and its management ICT structure. From 2007 to 2009 she served as Director of Social Policies at FUNDA (Foundation of Public Administration Development of São Paulo State). Vera has also acted as consultant at the International Development Bank (IDB); at the Brazilian Education Ministry; and at State and Municipality levels in the education area. Vera has a Masters in Economics and is currently studying for a PHD in Social Economics.
